Thermal Stability Evaluation of Nitroalkanes with Differential Scanning Calorimetry

نویسندگان

چکیده

The thermal stability of a set aliphatic nitroalkanes, comprising primary and secondary with short long linear chains or cyclic, was tested by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, for comparative purposes. An exothermic decomposition phenomenon high entity occurred all compounds, no significant difference observed to depend on the structure compounds tested. A maximum recommended process temperature (TD24) avoid is estimated studied compounds. Although TD24 values are difficult access under normal conditions handling storage in R&D labs, energy higher than 500 J/g, thus, attention should be paid, especially transportation, storage, handling. Yoshida correlation more conservative modified developed Pfizer were applied DSC data predict shock sensitivity explosive propagation. With most used correlation, some nitroalkanes predicted potentially sensitive as neat substances. Pfizer-modified flags shock-sensitive. information provided herein indicates inherent reactivity these could provide suggestions about precautions laboratory. In light this information, it advisable run accelerating rate evaluation experimental testing complete hazard assessment before employment an industrial scale.

Evaluation and Characterization of Free and Immobilized Acethylcholinesterase with Fluorescent Probe, Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Docking

Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme which catalyses the hydrolysis of choline esters, such as acetylcholine, is very important in nerve function. Previous structural studies showed the possible amyloid fibril formation on the AChE. Therefore it is important to understand interaction of ligands to prevent the formation of  amyloid fibrils. The purpose of the present study was to  char...

Thermal stability of PNA/DNA and DNA/DNA duplexes by differential scanning calorimetry.

Thermodynamics of the thermal dissociation transitions of 10 bp PNA/DNA duplexes and their corresponding DNA/DNA duplexes in 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) were determined from differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements. The PNA/DNA transition temperatures ranged from 329 to 343 K and the calorimetric transition enthalpies ranged from 209 +/- 6 to 283 +/- 37 kJ mol(-1). The co...

Thermal stability of Phaseolus vulgaris leucoagglutinin: a differential scanning calorimetry study.

Phaseolus vulgaris phytohemagglutinin L is a homotetrameric-leucoagglutinating seed lectin. Its three-dimensional structure shows similarity with other members of the legume lectin family. The tetrameric form of this lectin is pH dependent. Gel filtration results showed that the protein exists in its dimeric state at pH 2.5 and as a tetramer at pH 7.2. Contrary to earlier reports on legume lect...

Differential Scanning Calorimetry - A Method for Assessing the Thermal Stability and Conformation of Protein Antigen.

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is an analytical technique that measures the molar heat capacity of samples as a function of temperature. In the case of protein samples, DSC profiles provide information about thermal stability, and to some extent serves as a structural "fingerprint" that can be used to assess structural conformation. It is performed using a differential scanning calorim...

Differential scanning calorimetry of bacteria.

Thermograms obtained by differential scanning calorimetry of a range of bacteria of different heat resistances were compared. Equations were derived to calculate the rate at which the numbers of viable organisms in a calorimeter decline as the temperature is raised at a constant rate. Vegetative bacteria scanned at 10 degrees C min-1 showed multi-peaked thermograms with four major peaks (denote...
